KONGSBERG Integrates Anti-Drone Capability into Dutch NASAMS and NOMADS

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has signed a contract with Rheinmetall Air Defence to deliver its command and control solution for integration into the Skyranger 30 mobile air defence system, with the Dutch Ministry of Defence as the end customer. The contract value is in the high double-digit million euro range.

The agreement enables full interoperability between the Skyranger 30 and the NASAMS and NOMADS air defence systems, which the Netherlands procured from KONGSBERG in November 2024. Through this integration, all systems will operate within a common network, allowing coordinated air defence operations across multiple threat layers.

By connecting Skyranger 30 to NASAMS and NOMADS, the Netherlands will gain a more flexible and scalable air defence architecture capable of addressing a wide range of missions, including countering small and medium-sized unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

“Having Skyranger 30 in the same network as NASAMS and NOMADS, with its combat-efficient command and control architecture, enables the Netherlands to deploy the most flexible solution in the market covering a wide range of air defence missions, to include countering small and medium size drones,” said Kjetil R. Myhra, Executive Vice President of Division Defence Systems at KONGSBERG.

In addition to operational integration, the Skyranger 30 will also be incorporated into the KONGSBERG simulation and training solution that is being delivered to the Netherlands as part of the November 2024 contract. This will support training, mission planning, and system readiness across the integrated air defence network.
