Integrated Maritime Systems Highlighted at Sea-Air-Space

KONGSBERG will showcase its role as an end-to-end maritime systems integrator at Sea-Air-Space 2026, held April 19–22 near Washington, D.C. The exhibition brings together capabilities from its Kongsberg Discovery and Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace divisions.

Integrated approach to maritime defense systems
Modern naval operations require coordinated systems spanning surveillance, strike capability, and autonomous platforms. KONGSBERG’s portfolio emphasizes interoperability across these domains, enabling defense organizations to deploy integrated, mission-ready solutions.

This approach supports simplified procurement and long-term operational readiness, particularly in complex environments where multiple technologies must function cohesively.

Long-range strike capability with Joint Strike Missile
A key system on display is the Joint Strike Missile (JSM), designed for precision engagement in contested environments. The missile incorporates advanced guidance systems and a sea-skimming flight profile to reduce detectability and improve survivability.

Its long-range capability and targeting accuracy make it suitable for modern naval missions requiring flexible and precise strike options.

Autonomous underwater systems for data-driven operations
Kongsberg Discovery will present the HUGIN Edge AUV, an autonomous platform designed for expeditionary missions. The system collects high-resolution data to support applications such as:
  • Mine countermeasures
  • Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR)
  • Seabed mapping and security
By delivering detailed environmental data, the platform enhances situational awareness and supports decision-making in maritime operations.

Advanced sonar and sensing technologies
The portfolio also includes sonar systems such as the ST2400 variable depth sonar for anti-submarine warfare and the FL25 sonar for navigation and obstacle detection. These systems are designed to operate across both crewed and uncrewed platforms, improving detection capability and operational safety.

In addition, a mobile radar sensor container will be presented as a deployable solution for maritime domain awareness. The containerized system enables rapid establishment of surveillance capabilities in both routine and emergency scenarios.
