PHINIA at Farnborough International Airshow 2026
From July 20–24, in Farnborough, Hampshire, England, PHINIA is expanding its European aerospace engineering and production infrastructure to deliver high-precision component manufacturing for propulsion systems.

The global aerospace and defense sectors require component manufacturing solutions that maintain extreme precision at industrial scale. As propulsion systems evolve, the demand for components with minimal thermal distortion and micron-level tolerances introduces complex production challenges. To address these requirements, PHINIA Inc. is adapting its established industrial automation and precision manufacturing technologies to provide end-to-end support from early-stage prototype development through full-scale original equipment and service parts production.
Manufacturing infrastructure and certification roadmap
The implementation of these technical solutions relies on the expansion of specialized engineering and production sites across Europe. The company has secured EN9100 aerospace certification for its facility in Blois, France, which functions as the primary engineering center for initial aerospace programs.
To support upcoming customer program launches, digital infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities are being scaled at facilities in Gillingham and Stonehouse, United Kingdom. These UK sites are scheduled to achieve formal aerospace certification in the fourth quarter of 2026. The localized infrastructure allows for integrated lifecycle management, reducing complexity by utilizing a single partner for both design qualification and large-scale industrialization.
Technical solutions and process logic
The production system integrates several advanced manufacturing mechanisms designed to meet stringent aerospace performance standards:
- Femtosecond laser machining: This technology utilizes ultra-short laser pulses to execute precise cutting and drilling at a micron level. Because the pulse duration is minimized, the mechanism eliminates heat-affected zones, preventing material damage, burrs, or thermal distortion in complex component designs.
- Laser welding: This process delivers high-strength, repeatable joints with minimal thermal impact, ensuring structural integrity under high-stress operational conditions.
- Specialized machining: The architecture incorporates electrical discharge machining (EDM), electrochemical machining (ECM), precision grinding, and advanced coatings to manage fluid flow control and component durability.
"What differentiates PHINIA is our ability to support customers throughout the entire development journey — from concept and prototyping through qualification and production," stated Todd Anderson, VP and Chief Technology Officer at PHINIA. "Combined with our expertise in precision manufacturing and advanced process technologies, this allows us to solve complex engineering challenges while reducing risk and complexity for our customers."
Program deployment
The transition of these automotive and industrial technologies into the aerospace domain is demonstrated by the activation of two new aerospace programs and the securing of two additional aerospace contracts. The capabilities will be detailed at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 in Farnborough, United Kingdom, from July 20 to July 24, 2026, where technical specialists will present the operational logic, digital demonstrations, and validation data of the manufacturing systems.
