HELLO TOMORROW: SAFRAN SUPPORTS AEROSPACE START-UPS
70 start-ups will participate in Hello Tomorrow's “Global Challenge”, which rewards the most innovative projects. Safran will play a significant role in the event as a sponsor for the “Aerospace” category.
The Hello Tomorrow trade show, a key event for the Deep Tech* industry, is back for its eighth edition on March 9-10, 2023. During the exhibition, 70 start-ups will have the opportunity to distinguish themselves during the “Global Challenge”, which rewards the most innovative projects.
70 start-ups were selected out of a field of over 4,000 participants from around the world, and divided into 11 categories. Their projects were chosen for their ability to make a positive contribution to the future of society and the technology industries. With 70 projects in competition and only 10 prizes to be won, a tough road lies ahead for contestants in the latest "Global Challenge", whose list of finalists was unveiled on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
In order to succeed, the finalists will have to submit a pitch. Once again, Safran is sponsoring the "Aerospace" category this year, in which six projects are competing.
- Two American companies are in the running: Undefined Technologies and Scout Space. The first one is specialized in the development of a next-generation, all-electric, silent drone powered by ion propulsion.
- The second one, meanwhile, is building the first in-space observation systems to safeguard orbital infrastructure.
- Europe is also in the running with three companies: Nanostine, representing Spain, is designing a new way of coating surfaces with nanoparticles to improve their performance.
- The Italian start-up Manta Aircraft is working on the development of a multi-purpose aerial platform of hybrid-electric eV/STOL (vertical and short takeoff-landing) air vehicles with high performance and energy efficiency.
- Finally, the French company Share my space builds and operates a network of ground-based sensors to provide a complete mapping of orbital objects.
- The last start-up in competition, Aliena, which was founded in Singapore is developing electric propulsion engines to allow satellites to fly closer to Earth while providing high-resolution data.
During the show, which will be held on March 9-10 at the Cent-Quatre in Paris, Safran will have a stand open for some of its start-up partners. By contributing to this major event, Safran is once again demonstrating its commitment to supporting and promoting innovative technological approaches to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
